After my military case became public as I challenged the military's anti-gay policy, life changed. It followed with Serving in Silence, my autobiography, which was written with Chris Fisher in 1994, and suddenly there was a huge extended family.

Workplace Groups

ARE YOU EXPERIENCING WORKPLACE DISCRIMINATION? I was fired from my dream career because of my orientation. I suffered months of discrimination prior to my release. It almost destroyed me emotionally and financially. I felt alone, I hated myself, and one night I made a list of why I should live. I could not think of one reason to go on... That was six years ago. Since then, I have found too many reasons to live. I am involved in my community, have a great job where I am out, and have a wonderful partner. And now I want to help others who are experiencing workplace discrimination because of their orientation or gender identification, others who may be making that list.. Safe Spaces in Work Places, with Stonewall Behavioral Health Clinic of Dallas, is proud to announce a new support group for GLBT&Loved Ones experiencing workplace discrimination. Facilitated by "someone who has been there" and a trained therapist, the goal of the group is to offer support for those persons experiencing workplace discrimination. Together, we can find strength and support.

We are here to: Offer support to persons experiencing discrimination at work due to orientation and/or gender Act as a resource for further counseling needs Exchange ideas and sharing stories to assist persons experiencing discrimination. We do not offer legal advice, but we can lend an ear. We do not counsel one another, but can share with one another. You are not alone!

For more information, email PFLAGJude@aol.com. Support Groups will begin in September of 2002.
